Why You Should Buy Your Polaris Used Motorcycle Parts from MrCycleParts
The first Polaris snowmobile was built in 1954 by David Johnson, Paul Knochenmus and Orlen Johnson, employees of Hetteen Hoist and Derrick Shop in Roseau, MN. After the shop owner, Edgar Hetteen returned from a trip to find that the employees had used company time and materials to build it, he sold it to a local lumberyard owner. However they soon built another model called the Polaris Sno Traveler. To publicize these new models, Edgar and three others took a 3-week trek across Alaska on them. Despite the snowmobiles performing well, Edgars absence upset the board of directors and he left the company. He started a competing company that is known today as Arctic Cat. In the early 1960s, Polaris developed the Comet, which had problems and had to be recalled. They reworked the design into the Mustang in 1965, which became a hit. Polaris became one of the biggest manufacturers of snowmobiles in the 60s and 70s. In the mid-80s, Polaris expanded into the ATV market and is one of the top-selling brands today. In 2005, Polaris bought part of KTM and KTM started developing its own line of ATVs. In 1997, Polaris started Victory motorcycles to compete with Harley-Davidson and then they bought Indian Motorcycles in 2011.
